Director’s statement
“INSIGNIFICANT THINGS is about life’s tiny and not so tiny treasures: a photograph, a telephone number, a view of the volcanos at dawn, a caress, a desire. It centres around those everyday moments that are charged with an ordinary magic, the kind you find around every corner, completely real, almost insignificant, the kind all of us live but are sometimes unable to see or recognize. Ultimately, INSIGNIFICANT THINGS is about relationships and how rotten, frustrating and hurtful they can be. It is about the lack of communication. It is about loneliness. It is about this universal need we have to connect with another human being, even if we’re not very good at it. For, in the end, this is the most valuable treasure of all”.
