Ugo Murgia

Born in Cagliari in 1967, after graduating in scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence Ugo works for the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari. In 1994 he moves to Bagnolet to specialize in the manufacture of accessories and sculptures in resin and latex at the CFPTS (Centre de Formation aux Techniques Professionelle du Spectacle). In 1996 he is hired at the Atelier Decor Opéra Garnier and collaborates with designer Ariel Malka, experimenting with different techniques for animation music video. For Manuel Otero he builds the sets of the animated short "Revolution". Back in Italy, at the studio Melazeta of Modena, he experiments with new expressive techniques related to Flash animation and he creates numerous contents for web and national broadcast. Since 2005, as a freelance concept artist, he has been collaborating in the design of animated TV series and has participated in the implementation of the concept design for the Huntik Dark Ride 5D for the theme park Rainbow Magicland Valmontone. In 2008, he co-writes the TV series "Dixiland" (4'x26 episodes, Rai Fiction), that in 2009 is awarded a nomination at Annecy International Animated Film Festival as best pilot for a TV series for children.
