The children and Youth Film Festival in Giffoni Valle Piana is born, in a small town in the province of Salerno with less than 10.000 people. The original idea is of the 18 year old founder and artistic director Claudio Gubitosi. He is sided by a few cinema lovers like  Carlo Andria, Mario Ferrara, Franco Rega, Generoso Andria.

The organisers don't have a place to meet. They actualy meet and strenuously plan the future festival in one of the two cinemas in town. It is also the place where the films are screened.

Their pure passion for cinema is much stronger than the actual lack of places and funds. Tens of kids voluntarily contribute to the organization of the Festival.
