Spike Jonze
Born 1969, Rockville, USA. He began his career as a photographer. Then he made short films, commercials, and videoclips for Björk, R.E.M., Daft Punk, Beastie Boys, Fat Boy Slim, Chemical Brothers. In 1999 he directed his first feature film, BEING JOHN MALKOVICH, which received three Oscar nominations, including Best Director. In 2002 he made ADAPTATION, which earned the Jury Grand Prix at the Berlin Film Festival 2003, a Golden Globe nomination for Best Director and four Oscar nominations. WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE is his third feature. As a producer, his credits include his frequent screenwriter Charlie Kaufman’s directorial debut, SYNECDOCHE, NEW YORK (2008), and Michel Gondry’s first feature, HUMAN NATURE (2001).
