OSCAR AND THE LADY IN PINK by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt (France/Belgium/Canada)
Reasons: or having showed us Love as the key to face our lives with enthusiasm and intensity overcoming every fear, even the fear of death. The message effectiveness is given by the original and elegant storyline, that combines deep and soft contents and bravely expresses the importance of a transcendent viewpoint to give sense to human experiences.

Special Prize AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL AWARD

THE STORY OF ME by Luiz Villaça (Brazil)
Reasons: Amnesty International awards a film telling a delicate story set in Brazil, dealing with childhood denied by poverty and by the lack of respect of economic, social and cultural rights, as well as the rights to health, education and housing. Only through love and the inescapable right to love and to be loved, that should be granted to everybody, the main character will be able to redeem himself by promoting a culture based on respect and childhood protection.

Special Prize ARCA CINEMAGIOVANI AWARD

THE STORY OF ME by Luiz Villaça (Brazil)
Reasons: For having told the story of a boy considered as 'irrecoverable' who manages to change his life for better thanks to the affection, the confidence and the support of those close to him. This proves that no-one, feeling loved, is 'irrecoverable'.

Jury Grand Prix

CRACKS by Jordan Scott (United Kingdom/Ireland)
Reasons: Beauty, poetry, the ethereal but heavy lrical contents of a film that is aesthetically romantic open up a glimmer on the abyss, a dive in the muddy waters of the unexplainable and primordial. Great cinematography and delicate narration, together with the expressive strength of a protagonist such as Eva Green make up a very elegant opus. The richness and complexity of the characters offer the audience a huge space for reflection. If it is true that some festivals are more necessary than others it is also true that films such as Cracks are the most necessary.

Special Prize ARCA CINEMAGIOVANI AWARD

CRACKS by Jordan Scott (United Kingdom/Ireland)
Reasons: For having dealt with the darkest sides of love and desire degenerating in craziness and obsession in a non conventional way. For having depicted, though Miss G, a complex and complete character, a “bad teacher”, who at the same time is fascinating and wicked, portrayed under a dark and seductive perspective.

Aluminium Gryphon - Special Prize CIAL AWARD (Aluminium Wrapping Consortium)

BO by Hans Herbots (Belgium)
Reasons: For being able to tell the difficult story of a girl searching for her identity. 15-year-old Deborah is still so incapable to live her relationship with her family and friends and with the surrounding alienating environment that she behaves in different ways according to the situations and the circumstances she experiences. Nevertheless, the real Deborah appears when she dives into nature abandoning herself to the strength of the sea, which is symbol of her troubled life as a young woman.

Crystal Gryphon - Special Prize CAMPANIA BANK AWARD

BO by Hans Herbots (Belgium)
Reasons: For being able to bring on the big screen the story of an all-girl Third Millennium 'wasted youth'. The plot is a warning about the allurements and the trickery of easy-earned success characterizing global society.

Special Prize BEST MUSIC SCORE AWARD by Music Conservatory of Salerno

UDAAN by Vikramaditya Motwane (India)
Reasons: The music score of "Udaan" was able to bring together fusion and tonal music perfectly and to describe landscapes and characters with great gentleness and simplicity.
