Davide Marengo
Born 1972, Naples. In 2005 he directed a documentary about popular music in Puglia, CRAJ, which won the “Lino Micciché” Prize for Best First Film at the Venice Film Festival and was nominated for Best Documentary at the Silver Ribbon Awards. In 2007 he directed his first fiction feature film, NOTTURNO BUS. The film was nominated for Best New Director at the David di Donatello Awards and won the David for Best Original Song by Daniele Silvestri. In the same year he co-directed along with Dario Baldi a rockumentary about the rock band Negramaro, DALL’ALTRA PARTE DELLA LUNA, screened at the Venice Film Festival. Then he worked for TV, directing film TV such as LITTLE DREAM and NEVE SPORCA, and series TV such as IL COMMISSARIO MANARA and BORIS 3. He also made three short films (SHIT!, 1995; DEAD TRAIN, 1998; LA STRETTA DI MANO, 2002) and music videos for Carmen Consoli, Negramaro, Daniele Silvestri.

Nato nel 1972 a Napoli. Nel 2005 realizza il documentario CRAJ, sulla musica popolare pugliese. Il film viene presentato alle Giornate degli Autori della Mostra di Venezia del 2005, dove vince il premio Lino Micciché per la migliore opera prima, ed è candidato ai Nastri d’Argento come miglior documentario uscito in sala. Nel 2007 debutta nel lungometraggio di finzione con NOTTURNO BUS, che conquista la candidatura al David di Donatello per il miglior regista esordiente e vince il David per la miglior canzone originale, di Daniele Silvestri. Nello stesso anno Marengo dirige con Dario Baldi DALL’ALTRA PARTE DELLA LUNA, rockumentary sulla band dei Negramaro presentato a Venezia. In seguito lavora per la televisione dirigendo film tv come LITTLE DREAM e NEVE SPORCA, e serie tv come IL COMMISSARIO MANARA e BORIS 3. Nel corso della sua carriera ha realizzato tre corti (SHIT!, 1995; DEAD TRAIN, 1998; LA STRETTA DI MANO, 2002), e videoclip per Carmen Consoli, Negramaro, Daniele Silvestri.
