Biography

An enfant terrible of Classical Contemporary Music, for the new generations he is an authentic guru of Serious Music’s renovation. Two full-mark diplomas in Piano at the Perugia Conservatory and Composition at the Milan Conservatory. A degree with honors in Philosophy, with a final thesis about “The vacuum in Contemporary Physics”. Jeans, T-shirt, sneakers. This is the essential way M° Giovanni Allevi looks when he meets his audience in the world’s most prestigious music halls, from the New York Carnegie Hall to the Beijing Forbidden City Auditorium.
Composer, orchestra director and pianist, he charmed with his notes millions of young people who, fascinated by his example, approach classical music and the creative art of composition.
Many graduation theses were dedicated to him. His Concert for Piano and Orchestra n.1 was included in the XXI century Music section of the Concorso Pianistico Internazionale Città di Cantù.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) named an asteroid after him.
