Biography

Street Clerks were born in 2007, initially as a semi-acoustic trio. In 2009 Francesco Giommi joined the group, adding his drumming to the arrangements. From the very first years of live activity, the band has been bringing original songs and personal rearrangements to the stage, starting with songs from the 60s and 70s, such as Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and The Beatles, and ending with covers of Radiohead, The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers, among others. In July 2008 they won the Pelago on the road Festival. By winning the Controradio Rock Contest 2010, Street Clerks were awarded the production of their first official EP "Il ritorno di Beethoven", which was released on the 12th of June 2012. With the success of the EP at a local level and a show run in by regular concerts, the Street Clerks open the stage to artists such as Brunori Sas, Caparezza, Edoardo Bennato, Meganoidi, and later Alessandro Mannarino, Irene Grandi, Roy Paci and Niccolò Fabi. In 2013 they took part in the sixth season of X Factor Italia (broadcast on SkyUno) in the vocal group category, led by Simona Ventura.On 13 January 2015 their first album "Fuori" was released, distributed in Italy by Sony Music, which contains 12 tracks, 9 unreleased, and 3 covers.  "Infinite ore" was the first single in radio stations since the 9th of January. The second single, "Tuxedo", was the theme song for CaBeland, a Radio Deejay radio show hosted by Alessandro CaBelan. In the second half of 2015, they took the album in concert throughout Italy. Highlights include the first date of the tour at Obihall in Florence, Radio Deejay's Deejay On Stage, Radio 2's CaterRaduno, and Folk Festival in Orvieto, where they shared the stage with Niccolò Fabi. In 2018 they appeared in the film "Sono Tornato" by Luca Miniero and written by Nicola Guaglianone. On the 11th of May 2018 "Com'è andata la rivoluzione?" was released, anticipated by the single "Rivolù", which has been in radio rotation since 30 March.

On the 29th of June 2018 they were guests of Elio e le Storie Tese in their farewell concert, duetting on the song "Parco Sempione".

In August 2018 they open all the nights of Radio Deejay's Deejay On Stage.

In May 2019 they appear in the film "Forse è solo mal di mare" (directed by Simona De Simone) playing their "Marlene".

In July 2019 the single "Ho Fame" is released.

From 2014 to the present day, they are protagonists, as resident band, of Alessandro Cattelan's late night show "E poi c'è Cattelan", broadcast on SkyUno. In recent years they have had the opportunity to duet with dozens of artists, including Francesco De Gregori, Negramaro, Marco Mengoni, James Blunt, Malika Ayane, Carmen Consoli, Francesca Michielin, Robbie Williams, and act with Luca Argentero and Ben Stiller.

They have performed at events for many of the most important companies on the Italian and international scene including Armani, Bulgari, Dolce & Gabbana, Fratelli Rossetti, Samsung, Volkswagen, Land Rover.
