DARIO ALBERTINI

Biography

Dario Albertini was born in Rome in 1974. From an early age he became passionate about photography, and then devoted himself full time to documentaries, taking care of all the stages, from shooting to sound, from music to photography. "Slot - Le intermittenti luci di Franco" is his first documentary, and tells the story of a compulsive gambler (DER Visioni Doc Award – “Adriano Asti” Best Documentary Award - Cinemadocumentary Award - Marcellino De Baggis Award - Doc/it Professional Award finalist). "La Repubblica dei Ragazzi", produced with Rai Cinema, is a documentary on the birth of self-government within a community for young people without family support (400 colpi Vittorio Veneto Film Festival Award - Cinema Fedic Award). "Incontri al mercato" tells the simple everyday life of three people in the market of a provincial town (“Franco Basaglia” Award - ITFF Award), while "Manuel" is his first fiction feature film. In 2018 the film earned him a Nastri d’Argento nomination for best new director, and the Jury Award at the Brussels Film Festival, the only Italian film in competition along with Matteo Garrone’s "Dogman".
