Andrés Couturier
Andrés Couturier studied Graphic Design and Communication and later on Illustration. He also studied Drama and stage arts at the National University of Mexico and at the same time began working as an aide for small animation studios, mainly for commercials. In 2001 he began working as a web animator and developed a couple of independent shorts. When Anima Estudios appeared, he was given the opportunity of co-directing the first full length animated feature by the studio, Wizards and Giants. This was also the first animated feature made in Mexico after 28 years. Still at Anima Estudios, he worked as an animator for the studio’s second featureImaginum and later directed the film Agent Macaw. In 2010 he also directed Kung-Fu Magoo, starring the iconic character Mr. Magoo. He also contributed as creative consultant in TOP CAT THE MOVIE. Throughout 2011, he was animation director for the film El Santos VS La Tetona Mendoza and supervising director for the TV series TEENAGE FAIRY TALES DROP OUTS, a series inspired on Wizards and Giants. TOP CAT BEGINS is his most recent work.
