Charlotte Sachs Bostrup
Born in 1963, Denmark. She trained as an actor under the supervision of Galina Brenaa 1983-87, and afterwards performed for radio, television and film. She graduated in scriptwriting at the National Film School of Denmark, 1995. Her feature film debut ANJA & VIKTOR (2001), as well as the sequel ANJA AFTER VIKTOR (2003), were hits at the domestic boxoffice. Her fourth feature film LOST GENERATION (2004), based on a bestselling Danish novel from the seventies, is a period drama about the decline of a family during the period 1954-74. She helmed three adaptations of Renée Toft Simonsen's bestselling "Karla" stories, KARLA'S WORLD (2007), KARLA AND KATRINE (2009) and KARLA & JONAS (2010).

Negli ultimi tre anni, Charlotte ha lavorato all’adattamento di tre romanzi di Renée Toft Simonsen: KARLA'S WORLD (2007, presentato al GFF 2008), KARLA AND KATRINE (2009) e KARLA & JONAS (2010).

“Making KARLA AND KATRINE has been at least as joyful as making the first KARLA’S WORLD. With utmost sympathy and seriousness the author of the books, Renee Toft Simonsen raises issues that are important and close to the children. This makes it possible for me to make a children’s movie, which deals with the problems at eye-level with the kids and takes them seriously. Not to have a friend is a serious and painful thing for a twelve-year-old and I really enjoy working with the mix of humour, warmth and real emotions".
