Synopsis
Brazil, 1970. 12 year old Mauro is longing for the final of the Soccer World Cup between Brazil and Italy. Suddenly his parents have to leave the country for their political involvement and take the boy to São Paulo in the Bom Retiro neighbourhood to his grandfather’s house. Once in the city the boy finds out that the old man has died. Shlomo, the responsible of the local synagogue, will take care of him. Mauro will discover a multicultural universe composed of Hebrews, Italians, Greeks and Arabs. With them he will share his passion for soccer and the bittersweet flavour of his coming of age.
