Synopsis

A lonely young boy named Angus discovers a large mysterious egg along the shores of Loch Ness lake. The strange, mischievous hatchling inside is the water horse, the Loch's most mysterious and fabled creature. But with the water horse growing ten times its size every day, Angus finds it increasingly difficult to keep his new friend a secret.

Jay Russell earned his MFA with honors in screenwriting and directing at Columbia University in 1985. The first film he wrote and directed, END OF THE LINE, was critically acclaimed. He also wrote the screenplay for THE BLACK CAT, an episode of George Romero and Dario Argento’s TWO EVIL EYES. Russell directed the first music video for children, MINNIE’S STREET, that was produced by Walt Disney Records. He subsequently produced and directed the Discovery Channel series AMAZING AMERICA as well as other documentaries and specials for various networks. In 1995 he wrote, produced and directed two hours of miniseries for PBS about famous American highways, entitled GREAT DRIVES. In 2000 he directed MY DOG SKIP, selected at the GFF.
