Synopsis
Saint Nicholas has gone back to Spain. He won’t be back until next year. In the meantime, Winky Wong takes care of his horse Amerigo. She takes riding lessons on a pony called Naf-Naf, but she very much wants to ride Amerigo. Winky learns horse grooming from Uncle Siem and Aunty Cor, but she is not allowed to ride Amerigo until she is much bigger. Winky finds that hard to accept. At home, mom is pregnant. Winky likes the idea of getting a baby sister or brother, but she also feels a bit awkward about it. Things get especially complicated when her mother is admitted to hospital. Winky feels lonely, but she finds comfort in Amerigo. One day, when there is no one else at the stables, Winky decides to take a ride. But something terrible happens: Amerigo escapes. Winky has to find him back before Saint Nicholas returns.
