Mike Hollands

Mike Hollands studied Architecture at the Melbourne University. He began working in television in 1972 as a graphic designer and animator. In 1983-1984 he worked a freelance animator. In 1985-1992 he was first designer/director at the Video Paintbrush Company in Melbourne where he designed and directed many TV commercials. In 1992 he set up his own production company Act III that produces both 2D and 3D animations above all for advertising agencies. Recent work has included a 3D animated 5-minute pilot for a pre-school TV series and a series of multimedia videos for a museum exhibition. Through Mike’s initiative Act III has developed a software system “Mr Punch” which allows quality cost efficient animation of 3D characters.
