the spongebob squarepants movie regStephen Hillenburg

He studied at the Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. He has a degree in natural-resource planning and interpretation, and his main interest are marine resources. For three years he taught marine biology at the Orange County Ocean Institute, in Dana Point, California. He had always enjoyed drawing and painting, so he pursued a master's-degree program in experimental animation at the California Institute of the Arts, in Valencia. All these experiences came together to create SpongeBob SquarePants.

Director’s statement

“I designed Spongebob to make my friends laugh and now I find him on the big screen. I would have never imagined it. The film, as the series, talks about the importance to cherish our innocence. But the story is very comical at the same time”.
