Synopsis
In St. Justine, Quebec, with a population of 1,200 people life was strictly controlled by traditions. On Sundays someone went to Mass and on Saturday night someone else was listening to the hockey contest. A Quebec novelist, Rock Carrier, grew up in St. Justine and this animated film tells one of his most humiliating experiences of his childhood. All the boys in the village loved Maurill Richard and Montreal Canadians. When the Canadians' shirt became too tight for Rock Carrier, Mrs. Carrier was forced to write to the distant Mr. Eaton for a larger one. But instead of sending the desired red, white, and blue t-shirt of the canadians, Mr. Eaton sent one of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Wearing a Maple Leafs t-shirt meant provoking contempt, becoming a rogue. At the boy's protests, the mother replies: "What you wear is not important. What's in your head is important ".
