PAOLO GENOVESE
He was born in 1966. After graduating in Economics and Business, he started working on commercials, directing hundreds of commercials and winning numerous national and international awards. Meanwhile, he also became a teacher of "Audiovisual technique and language" at the European Institute of Design. Between 2002 and 2008 he directed with Luca Miniero the short film COPPIA and the comedies NAPOLETAN SPELL (2002), SORRY YOU CAN’T GET THROUGH! (2005), QUESTA NOTTE È ANCORA NOSTRA (2008). In 2010, the first film directed alone LA BANDA DEI BABBI NATALE followed by IMMATURE, GENERATION CRASH (2011), IMMATURI, IL VIAGGIO (2012), UNA FAMIGLIA PERFETTA (2012), TUTTA COLPA DI FREUD (2013), SEI MAI STATA SULLA LUNA? (2015). In 2016 with PERFECT STRANGERS, a choral comedy about friendship, love and betrayal, he was acclaimed by critics (David di Donatello 2016 and Ciakd’Oro 2016) and public. THE PLACE, which we propose in Masterclass section, is from 2017. Genovese is currently working on his latest film SUPERHEROES.
