Annette K. Olesen

Born 1965, Copenhagen. She worked as a trainee in a television cutting room before studying directing at the Danish Film School. After graduating, in 1991, she taught at the DFS, directed commercials and educational films and worked as a researcher for documentary filmmaker, Jørgen Leth. Her first feature film, MINOR MISCHAPS (SMÅ ULYKKER), received a “Blue Angel” award during the 2002 Berlinale; it was also a hit on the international theatrical circuit.

Director’s statement
“When the world as we know it changes, it makes us feel insecure. When we feel insecure we fear we’ll lose what we’ve got. When we fear that, we try to exert control. At best fear is an instinct that enables us to survive. At worst it is a cancer that spreads and mutates into angst. This is a film about fear. I want to tell this story eye to eye. 1 to 1”.
