Svêrák will win the Oscar in 1996 with "Kolya". Iranian film BADUK by Majid Majidi, one of the most interesting authors of Iranian cinematography is appreciated. The winner is FRIDA by Norwegian director Berit Nesheim. She will also win the Gryphon in '94 with "Beyond the Sky" and will receive an Oscar nominee in '98 for "The Other Side of Sunday".
