Synopsis
Recife, Brasil, 1929. Clarice is a young author with a fervid imagination and a great passion for literature. When a school friend promises her a book, which in reality she has no intention of lending her, Clarice waits for days to read it. Meanwhile her mother dies after a long illness, and her father decides to move to Rio with his family. Before leaving, Clarice makes one more attempt to obtain the longed-for volume.
