Synopsis
A storm shatters in a cove of an island Piccolo, the son of the commander of a fishing boat, and the little dog Spazzola. Determined to find his father and two older brothers, sure as it is that winds and sea have made them shipwreck on the same coasts, Piccolo meets a very old man who wears a poncho and a big straw hat. The island is Caprera and the old man, who lives in solitude surrounded by four animals (the Quarto horse, the Radetzky cat, the bizarre goat Caprera and Piedmont, a Brazilian parrot), tells of having met Garibaldi.

GUIDO MANULI
Guido Manuli was an Italian screenwriter, film director and animator. Born in Cervia in 1939, he started his career in Milan as an illustrator. In 1960 he starts his collaboration with Bruno Bozzetto, assuming various roles - from animator, illustrator to film director and art director. He is famous for West and Soda, Vip - Mio fratello superuomo, Allegro non troppo and for the saga on signor Rossi. In 1991 he won Davide di Donatello for the best screenplay, for the film Volere volare. He is a member of the ASIFA Italia.
