Tran Thanh Huy is considered one of the most promising young directors in the Vietnamese film industry in the last 10 years. In 2008 he directed his first short film THE KEY OF LIFE, followed by the short MARBLE (2011). In 2013 he completed his short film 16:30 which won numerous awards.

Director's statement
"I wanted to create a vigorous, noisy and hurried impression through the characteristics of the boy’s job. Even the social life in the film happens quickly and urgently. I will recreate this reality through a hand- held camera technique. The images will be out-of-focus, shaky and the shots will break the rules to best emphasize the craziness of the gamblers’ world. To demonstrate such impression, I have listened, felt and absorbed a lot in order to portray this life as simply and honestly as possible. This method is deeply rooted in my mind. It has kept me on track with the path I have chosen".
