Giffoni Experience has chosen its image for 2014. Continuing to focus on the concept of "shared" festival where the program is built along with the audience, Giffoni Experience launched last September, an international creative contest (open to all: professionals and not) for the creation of the image for the 44th edition of festival which will take place July 18 to 27 , 2014.
The contest has involved more than 1,000 participants from 51 countries (Albania, Argentina , Australia, Austria , Belarus, Belgium , Bosnia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, South Korea, Croatia, Denmark, United Arab Emirates, Philippines Finland , France , Germany, Japan , Greece, India , Indonesia, Iran , Ireland, Israel, Italy , Macedonia , Mexico, Netherlands, Poland , Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic , Romania, Russia , Serbia, Singapore , Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, United States, Sweden , Taiwan, Turkey , Ukraine, Hungary , Uruguay and Vietnam). Over 600 exclusive works (illustrations , photographs, design and graphic design ) came over. Every work expresses very different concepts and interesting theme for the contest: BE DIFFERENT.
The jury - made up of experts in the field of graphics and illustrations, and the artistic direction of the Festival - has considered carefully all the works received, decreeing the winning work as the one realized by Federico Babina & Nuria Raspall Guillamont two illustrators living in Barcelona who will receive a prize of € 2,000 and a trip to Giffoni during the festival period .
The two illustrators have tried to translate the image into their personal concept of BE DIFFERENT. "The surrealist image of a different animal was the best metaphor to represent the dream experience that gives us the cinema" - these are the words of the winners. "Each animal is shown with atypical small details that emphasize the originality and diversity without influence recognizability. Drawings are a series of stories that overlap and are converted into one story where fantasy and reality merge to form a parallel world . Being different is not a limit but an added value".
