#GIFFONI2018: OPENING TOMORROW WITH ANDREA BOCELLI AND ANT-MAN AND THE WASP PREVIEW

Giffoni 2018 opening ceremony is scheduled on Friday 20th at 12pm in the Cittadella

Andrea Bocelli is eagerly awaited tomorrow at #Giffoni2018. One of the Giffoni Film Festival’s young jurors will tribute the famous tenor, incredibly acknowledged abroad, with the Truffaut Award. Popular actors such as Julianne Moore, Alan Rickman, Eddie Redmayne, Amy Adams, Samuel Leroy Jackson, Bryan Cranston, Richard Gere, Gabriele Salvatores, Giuseppe Tornatore, and music star Mika have received the same award in the past. After conducting a survey, Tuscany’s tenor has been appointed by the youths as the perfect addressee for the award.

The opening ceremony of #Giffoni2018 is scheduled on Friday 20th at 12pm in the Cittadella.

Ant-Man and the Wasp preview, set for release the 14th August in Italy, is also scheduled on the 20th July. The sequel of the Marvel saga, whose first chapter was released in 2015, will be directly presented to jurors by protagonists Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, who will also reveal backstage details and curiosities. Since its first chapter, Ant-Man and the Wasp – distributed by The Walt Disney Company Italia – has been directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige, whereas Louis D’ EspositoVictoria AlonsoStephen BroussardCharles Newirth and Marvel’s famous cartoonist, script-writer and editor Stan Lee, are executive producers. 

The film director comes now back with this new work full of action and adventure, boasting the script written by Chris McKenna & Erik SommersAndrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari, and Paul Rudd. The cast also features Michael Peña and Oscar Prize Michael Douglas, back on track with the roles they already played in 2015, and Bobby CannavaleJudy GreerAbby Ryder FortsonTip T.I. Harris and David Dastmalchian. Oscar nominee Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburne join the cast together with Hannah John-KamenWalton Goggins and Randall Park. Following the events told in Captain America, Scott Lang is now experiencing the Civil War and has to face the consequences of its own decisions both as a super hero and a father. While he is committed to manage his familiar life and his Ant-Man duties, he is assigned a new urgent mission by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym. Scott must wear his uniform again and learn how to fight next to Wasp while the team tries to shed light on past secrets.

At 11am it’s time for Masterclass Talk at Antica Ramiera with writer Emanuele Cerullo, author of the collection Il coraggio di essere libero (2007). At 11.15am, comic duo I Soldi Spicci, are meeting Elements +10 in Sala Alberto Sordi to talk about their on-stage experiences. Actor, film director and screenwriter Andrea Jublin meets Masterclass Classic youths at 4pm in Sala Blue of the Multimedia Valley. At 3pm, Terravecchia’s suggestive Ostello della Gioventù hosts Masterclass Music & Radio with duo Benji & Fede. Again, at 4pm in Terravecchia, the attention is focused on legal expert Ferdinando Tozzi, who will explain the jurors the relationship between technology and copyright. The first day of the festival ends with Giffoni Music Concept’s first unmissable appointment: Benji & Fede and Livio Coria’s live performances are scheduled in Piazza Lumiere at 10pm.
