Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj: “Giffoni is a place where countries and nationalities vanish”

"There is a common thread connecting Albania and Giffoni which fills me with pride. Through the years we’ve been able to strengthen our relation, which has been a strong drive for growth and improvement to  both parties. I love dreamers and audacious people and Giffoni is a place where countries and nationalities vanish”. Erion Veliaj, Mayor of Tirana, the capital of Albania, has been the first guest of Giffoni Talks, a series of institutional and operational meetings which will take place during the 47th edition of Giffoni Film Festival. He was welcomed by Giffoni Experience Director Claudio Gubitosi, Giffoni Chairman Piero Rinaldi, Giffoni Hub Ceo Luca Tesauro and Giffoni Valle Piana Mayor Antonio Giuiano.

"Claudio Gubitosi has been many times to Tirana – said Veliaj - and each of these he has highlighted the great work done through the years on the urban fabric. We have been investing a lot on art and we have been trying to strongly demonstrate that this is not a nonessential component. The meeting places dedicated to the development of creativity are increasing in number. If more people start thinking like this - he concluded – we will have greater opportunities to develop little treasures also in my country, just like Giffoni Film Festival”.

Veliaj’s words were welcomed by Gubitosi and Rinaldi, who greeted and thanked their guest, highlighting how “Giffoni and Albania are as one, the network of a system where everyone works with the purpose of giving his best”.
