Also in competition for Elements +6, is the feature film Pudsey the Dog: The Movie by Nick Moore (UK, 2013), scheduled at 15:00 in Sala Alberto Sordi. Pudsey is a cheeky London stray dog. He is quite happy to be a lone vagabond, until the day he meets siblings Molly, George and Tommy. He settles in with the family, to the dismay of their landlord, Mr. Thorne, and his cat Faustus. When Pudsey stumbles across Thorne’s evil plan, he will do his best to save his new friends.

Generator +13 presents Behavior by Ernesto Daranas Serrano (Cuba, 2014), at 10:00 in Sala Truffaut. Eleven-year-old Chala lives alone with his drug addicted mother and feels deep affection for his teacher, Carmela. One day she becomes ill and the new teacher, unable to understand Chala’s behavior, sends him off to a re-education school. When Carmela returns, she rebels against this measure. The relationship between the veteran teacher and the boy grows stronger, but this mutual commitment will jeopardize their permanence at the school.

For Generator +16 there is Living is Easy with Eyes Closed by David Tueba (Spain, 2013), at 2.30 pm in Sala Truffaut. Antonio, an English teacher who uses the Beatles songs for his lessons, decides to set out and meet Lennon. On the way, he meets Belén, who has run away from the chains clamped upon her by family and the social atmosphere reigning in the country. Both run into a 16-year-old boy, Juanjo, who has run away from home in a flurry of youthful rebellion after an argument with his father. The three see Lennon as a symbol of freedom and hope, Their adventure becomes the expression of a country desperate for a better future, in the same places and time that Lennon composed his song STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER.

GEx Doc concludes with Lucky Devils by Verena Endnter (Switzerland, Russia, 2013), at 3.10 pm in Sala Lumière. In the city of Saint Petersburd, over 8500 children live on the streets because of difficult family circumstances often marked by violence and alcohol abuse. But there’s the circus Upsala with its founder Larissa, who tries her utmost to get these children off the streets and to infuse them with new hopes and desires. Lucky Devils in a journey from Russian shanty towns to circus’ red lights.
