Giffoni Macedonia among the major events of the semester of italian presidency of the EU Council

Giffoni Macedonia Youth Film Festival held at Skopje, which has been numbered among the major events of the semester of Italian presidency of the EU Council, becomes a “hub” for Giffoni Fim Festival in the Balkans. The announcement – together with the confirmation that Giffoni Voyager will also include a “Giffoni-Sao Paulo Film Festival”, scheduled from 28 January to 1 February, – was made this morning during the “Voyager” meeting, in the presence of GFF Director Claudio Gubitosi, Macedonian Film Fund Director Darko Basheski, and Giffoni Macedonia Film Festival Directors Elena Velickovska and Ivo Antov.

Velickovska reminded the decades-long participation to the Giffoni Film Festival, revealing that  foreign youth numbers will double during next year's edition, on schedule from 8 to 12 October. Last year the festival was attended by five different countries, which will increase to ten this year.  “Macedonian youth feel at home in Italy, especially in the South. That’s why they are not afraid of expressing their opinions", added Antov. "It's very easy for Giffoni Experience to be rated as the greatest festival for kids and youth, as well as the most followed on social networks – pointed out  Gubitosi. “After the Macedonian edition, which will also involve Neapolitan opera house Teatro di  San Carlo, we'll move to São Paulo to live the global experience we have called Giffoni Voyager." For his part, Basheski declared himself  "proud of our partnership with Giffoni Film Festival, which we hope will lead to further collaboration between governments and cultural projects".
