Sergio Castellitto to receive the #Giffoni50 special award

The talented Italian actor will also meet the jurors of the Masterclass cult on August 29

One of the most acclaimed Italian and European actors, writers and directors, Sergio Castellitto will visit Giffoni on Saturday August 29 on the occasion of part 2 of the 50th edition of the Giffoni Film Festival, where he will meet the masterclass jurors of the CULT section and receive the #Giffoni50 special award.
This will be the second time for Castellitto, a three time David di Donatello winner (The great watermelon by Francesca Archibugi, Don’t move, which he also directed, and Three columns in the news by Carlo Vanzina) at the festival after his appearance in 2009, on the occasion of 39th edition. Castellitto, , has appeared in many acclaimed films for both cinema such as Giuseppe Tornatore's The Star Maker (special jury prize at the 52nd Venice International Film Festival), and Andrew Adamson’s Narnia’s chronicles: Prince Caspian as the evil King Miraz.  In Television he has made appearances in Il grande Fausto (Coppi) by Alberto Sironi (1993); The Prior of Barbiana (Don Milani) by Antonio and Andrea Frazzi (1997); Padre Pio by Carlo Carlei (1999) and Ferrari (2001) directed by Carlo Carlei, produced by Angelo Rizzoli for Mediaset. Maurizio Zaccaro’s The Mayor fisherman, broadcast by Rai 1 in 2016and Sky’s In Treatment.
The Roman actor is also a highly praised director; After  debuting behind the camera in 1999 with Libero Burro, he went on to sign many other films such as  the moving You can’t save yourself alone based on Margaret Mazzantini’s novel).
