An X-men among the Giffoni 2016 jurors, “Beast” Nicholas Hoult lands in Giffoni

The young British thesp, known for his portrayal of the blue mutant in the  cinecomics saga, will be a guest at the 46th edition of the Festival

Anticipation is sky high at the Giffoni 2016 for the arrival of Nicholas Hoult, a guest of the Festival to be held 15 – 24 July in Giffoni Valle Piana - Italy. The young boy who redeemed Hugh Grant in About a boy and made waves with his epic transformation in the most beastly X-men ever as  Hank McCoy/Beast in the Matthew Vaughn helmed X: First Class (2011) and the Brian Singer films X-Men – Days of a future past (2014) and X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) will meet the young Jury on the occasion of the 46th edition of the festival. After playing one of the leads in George Miller’s acclaimed Mad Max: Fury Road, Hoult will be back in cinemas with the Eran Creevy Thriller Collide alongside Academy Award winners Ben Kingsley and Anthony Hopkins and Felicity Jones.

Born in Wokingham in 1989, Nicholas Caradoc Hoult studied acting at the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School in London. He debuted on the big screen at the age of six in Philip Goodhew’s Intimate Relations  (1996), and went on to star in the 2002 hit comedy About a Boy alongside Hugh Grant, helmed by Chris and Paul Weitz.  

His work as an actor includes appearances inTVteen drama Skins, and in films such as The Weather Man, alongside Nicholas Cage, Tom Ford’s A Single Man, with Colin Firth and Julianne More, Clash of the Titans, alongside Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Sam Worthington and Warm Bodies, by Jonathan Levine based on Isaac Marion’s novel of the same name.

After Collide Hoult will return in cinemas in Fernando Coimbra’s Iraqui war torn film Sand Castle and Danny Strong’s Rebel in the Rye alongside Kevin Spacey, a film about the life of Salinger the author of the classic The catcher in the rye
