The documentary recounts the resilience and redemption of communities of people determined to carry forward their vision oriented towards change in the territory, through the action of third sector organizations. As Erri De Luca states: “The South is sitting on a treasure and believes it has to look for it elsewhere.” These communities have gained the awareness that change in the South would never come from outside but had to start from themselves, through an act of active citizenship, personal and collective responsibility. The stories follow the paths of ordinary citizens, not of heroes, who have created a network, a community, starting from shared values of solidarity and reaching the point of shaping a new economic paradigm in which ethics becomes sustainable and produces development for the whole territory. This is the leitmotif of the documentary set in Calabria, Puglia, Campania and Sicily. Different and singular stories but united by common visions in which the proactive action of a group becomes contagious and influences communities and territories, generating new opportunities for change.
