Stefano Veneruso

Stefano Veneruso, director, screenwriter and producer, made his debut at a very young age as assistant director of the film THE POSTMAN (1994), directed Backstage, which was distributed all over the world and won several awards. Later he moved to Los Angeles where he studied directing and cinematography at UCLA and AFI and made his first short film I'M SOPHIE AND YOU?, winner of several awards. In 2000 he worked as assistant director for the film GANGS OF NEW YORK, directed by Martin Scorsese. In 2003 he worked as assistant director for the film THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST, directed by Mel Gibson. In 2004 he was director and producer of the film ALL THE INVISIBLE CHILDREN (distributed in cinemas in over 120 countries) co-directed among others by Ridley Scott, Spike Lee, Emir Kusturica and John Woo. In recent years he directed theatrical performances, documentaries and music videos with extraordinary artists such as Giancarlo Giannini, Tina Turner, Elisa, Franco Califano and Massimo Troisi. In 2019 he is director and author of the theatrical show and of the homonymous multimedia exhibition Troisi Poeta Massimo. In 2020 he directed, wrote and produced the film STARTING TOMORROW, I’LL GET UP LATE with John Lynch and Gabriella Pession. In 2022 he was the creator and artistic director of the collective exhibition of contemporary art  I volti di Massimo Troisi as part of the Procida Italian Capital of Culture 2022 program, on display at Palazzo D'Avalos.
