Andrei Sokolov

Andrei is a Russian director and animator, screenwriter and art director also known as the creator of many wonderful animated films. Andrei was born in Moscow in 1974. After school, he went to the animator courses at the ‘Pilot’ animation studio, which he successfully completed in 1995 and immediately got a job in this famous studio as an animator and storyboard artist. He received further specialized education at VGIK, Department of Directing of Animated Films, where he graduated in 2003. In 2009, Andrei left the ‘Pilot’ studio and started working on his own projects. He worked with such studios as ‘Moscow’, ‘Master-Film’, ‘Rickie’, ‘Soyuzmultfilm’, ‘KinoAtis’  and a film studio named after M.Gorky. Andrei Sokolov received several awards for his work in the field of cinematography and animation. Among them - the diploma of the Open Russian Animation Film Festival in Suzdal, the Grand Prix of the Short Film Festival in Ismailia (Egypt), the main prize of the International Children's Film Festival ‘Scarlet Sails of Artek’.
