Francesco Pannofino was born to Apulian parents, in Pieve di Teco, in the province of Imperia. During the adolescence he discovers his comic talent and starts to tread the boards with small theatre companies.

Just fourteen, he moves to Rome and after a few years, he approaches the world of radio and dubbing. He keeps following the path of acting and becomes part of Antonella Steni’s company, after playing at the Teatro Stabile of Trieste.

In the eighties, success comes along with Gigi Angelillo and Ludovica Modugno with whom he forms a comic trio. In the nineties, Francesco Pannofino voices Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump and Denzel Washington in Philadelphia; these two films launch him in the Olympus of dubbers so he becomes, among others, the voice of George Clooney (One fine day, The Peacemaker, Out of Sight, Three Kings, Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?, The perfect Storm, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, Ocean's Eleven, Solaris, Confessions of a dangerous mind, Intolerable Cruelty, Ocean's Twelve, Syriana, The Good German, Ocean's Thirteen, Michael Clayton, Leatherheads, Burn After, The Men Who Stare at Goats, Up in the Air, The American, The Descendants, The Ides of March, Gravity, The Monuments Men, Tomorrowland, Hail, Caesar!, Money Monster) and Antonio Banderas (Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios, ¡Dispara!, Miami Rhapsody, Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles, Two Much, Assassins, Original Sin, Femme fatale, Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever, Take the Lead, Bordertown).

Even television notices him, so he takes part in some of the most followed TV series such as Carabinieri and La squadra. In the 2000s, comes the cinematographic turning point: he stars in Liberate i pesci! by Cristina Comencini, Fatti della banda della Magliana by Daniele Costantini, Notturno Bus by Davide Marengo, Questa notte è ancora nostra by Genovese and Miniero, Lezioni di Cioccolato by Claudio Cupellini, Maschi contro femmine by Fausto Brizzi, Ogni maledetto Natale by Giacomo Ciarrapico, Mattia Torre and Luca Vendruscolo, Patria, directed by Felice Farina, Le frise ignoranti, directed by Antonello De Leo and Pietro Loprieno. At the same time, he takes part in the production of the Sky cult series “Boris”, also released in cinemas in 2011. He also appears in the series I Cesaroni and Un medico in famiglia and is the protagonist of the fiction Nero Wolfe in 2012. In 2013 he’s in Adriano Olivetti – La forza di un sogno by Michele Soavi. In addition to fictions, Pannofino leads the Concerto del Primo Maggio, in 2012. Then, he’s in Emigratis (2016 - 2018), Miss Italia – Gli esami and he’s the narrating voice in the successful show Meraviglie – La penisola dei tesori (2018 - 2019).

On the 20th anniversary of the Italian edition of the Harry Potter saga, Francesco Pannofino lends his voice for the audio books of the J. K. Rowling complete series, produced by Audible; he is among the protagonists of the cinema comedy Show Dogs, collaboration related to OIPA Italia Onlus, in which he dubs one of the protagonists. He doesn’t abandon his theatre commitment: in the summer of 2018 he stars in the Aristofane’s play I Cavalieri, staged at the Teatro Greco of Siracusa, and is on tour with the play Bukurosh, mio nipote by G. Clementi.

Francesco Pannofino returned to the big screen with La Partita by F. Jerky, L’Uomo Che Comprò La Luna by P. Zucca and La Banda dei Tre, directed by F. M. Dominedò. He’s in the cast of the film Il caso Pantani by D. Ciolfi and Nati due volte by P. Di Lallo. He also takes part in the film A mano disarmata by C. Bonivento. He lends his voice for the Audible version of Animali fantastici: dove trovarli. In the month of March, 2019, he arrives on the stage of the Teatro Piccolo Eliseo with Io vendo le emozioni, a play realized with his own songs and texts. In the same year, he’s in Si muore solo da vivi by A. Rizzi; he takes part in the TV show Tale e Quale Show and in the second season of the Fox production Romolo + Giuly: la guerra mondiale italiana. He dubs Klaus in the homonymous Netflix animated film. He’s also the narrating voice of the the Sky Arte project Io, Leonardo, directed by J. G. Lambert. Since 2020, he’s on tour with Mine Vaganti, the theatre version of the Ferzan Ozpetek’s film, and participates in the TV programs Moviemagic, E poi c’è Cattelan, Il tempio della velocità, directed by T. Cenname, and Quelle brave ragazze (TV program, speaker). Then, he returns to assume his iconic role in Boris 4.

In 2021 he’s in the cast of the films Ostaggi by E. Ivone, The Christmas Show by A. Ferrari, Uomini da marciapiede by F. Albanese, Apologo dello sposo indeciso che non poteva (o forse non voleva) uscire dal bagno by G. Amato and La guerra del Tiburtino III by L. Gualano.
