Biography

Giovanni Mori graduated in Environmental Engineering from the University of Brescia and earned a Master’s degree in Energy Engineering from the Universities of Trento and Bolzano and the Lausanne Polytechnic University (EPFL). His final thesis focused on the development of strategies aimed at making the EPFL campus (15,000 people) the first in the world with zero net CO2 emissions. He later presented his work at an international conference. Back in Italy, he helped found the movement Fridays For Future Brescia and Fridays For Future Italia, organizing several climate strikes throughout Italy. An environmental consultant for companies, he has been collaborating with Save the Planet ONLUS since 2020. A lifelong lover of communication and videos, he is also a content creator for the social platforms of Fridays For Future Italia (of which he was spokesperson in 2021) aiming at promoting unconventional forms of science popularization. In 2019, he started the podcast Emergenza Climattina in order to report on the causes and, above all, the solutions to the climate crisis in an informal way. At the Green Social Festival, he had a column named Memento Mori, which he used to explain why we are not going to die (maybe). He has been collaborating with LifeGate since September 2019, hosting Radio for Future, the voice of Fridays for Future Italia, which became a weekly program in 2021. He also writes on Domani Editoriale, with which he is working on the DestinazioneCOP project to report on climate negotiations.
