Biography

Andrea Moccia (Naples, August 20, 1985) is a geologist, manager, video maker, science popularizer and essayist. After a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Geology and a second-level MSC in Geo-resources at the University Federico II of Naples, he started his professional career in 2011 in Glasgow, at the Midland Valley Exploration, and then moved to Paris at the French National Institute of Energy (IFPen Group), where he was Deputy Team Manager of the geology and geophysics team until 2020. He has traveled the world and worked on subsoil geological exploration and modeling projects in over twenty countries, cooperating with international teams and leading companies. In 2018, he created Geopop, a science popularization project, which in January 2021 became a magazine of the Ciaopeople publishing group.

In 2021, Cairo Editore published his book Un Tesoro al Piano Terra (A Treasure on the Ground Floor), which focused on the relationship between modern society and the riches of the subsoil.
