From April 27 to 30, time for Verde Giffoni: 400 young people from all over Italy to meet experts and artists committed to the protection of the planet

All set for Verde Giffoni: the event dedicated to the safeguard of our planet and aimed at Generation Z will be taking place from April 27 to 30Four days dedicated to sustainability, which is not to be exclusively understood as environmental sustainability, but also as a social and economic principle expressed through cinema, culture, communication, music and innovation. Verde Giffoni will thus give voice to 400 young men and women aged 14 to 25 from all over Italy, who will be called upon to discuss environmental issues with artists committed to the protection of the planet as well as professionals in the fields of psychologyphilosophy and science.

Verde Giffoni will make its debut just a few days after Earth Day, which will be celebrated tomorrow, April 22, all over the world. This is the most important time for the Green generation, which aims at raising awareness on environmental issues through sustainable consumption and education. These values have always been part of Giffoni's DNA and are now ready to give life to this new format.

The event is organized by the Ente Autonomo Giffoni Experience, co-financed by the Ministry of Culture - General Direction for Cinema and by the Campania Region, with the support of the Municipality of Giffoni Valle PianaConai (National Packaging Consortium) and the seven Chain Consortiums for the collection, recovery and recycling of packaging in steel (Ricrea), aluminum (Cial), paper and cardboard (Comieco), wood (Rilegno), plastic (Corepla), biodegradable and compostable plastic (Biorepack) and glass (Coreve).

The films will be presented in two sections"In&Out Society" and "Futura". Both sections will provide a clear picture on ecology, the environment, the preservation of the ecosystem and animal protection. The pre-selection process involved 350 feature films from Italy, Israel, Canada, Bolivia and France, which were evaluated by the Giffoni team in order to identify the best ones and present them to the public.

Verde Giffoni will allow young people to exchange views with personalities from the world of culture and entertainment, science representatives, corporate CEOs and artists committed to the protection of our planet. The event will start with the promoters of the Assisi Manifesto, FATHER ENZO FORTUNATO and ERMETE REALACCI. On the same day, Giffoni will also welcome EDOARDO VIGNA, editor-in-chief of Pianeta 2030, the monthly supplement of the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera dedicated to environmental and sustainability issues, and LUDOVICA CHIARINI, project manager of EcoMuvi, the integrated service and certified protocol aimed at ensuring a sustainable development of film and audiovisual productions. Following the establishment of a media partnership with Sky Nature, a TV network that has been focusing on environmental protection since its launch, on April 28 Verde Giffoni will host a meeting between the singer FRANCESCA MICHIELIN, Sky Nature’s testimonial and host of Effetto Terra, Guida pratica per terrestri consapevoli, and philosopher MAURA GANCITANO, who will discuss how each individual can contribute to change starting with practical daily actions. Sky Zero, content partner of the festival, will also be present at the four-day event. Another guest will be ANDREA MOCCIA, the creator of the science magazine Geopop, which belongs to Ciaopeople publishing group. Special attention will then be paid to the IN-AIR project with the presence of MASSIMO CUSCUNÀ, researcher at the Institute of Nanotechnology of the National Research Council and FAUSTO UGOZZOLI, director of R&D at AeroDron Srl. On April 29, the event Generation Z, key word: sustainability, designed by Giffoni Innovation Hub, will take place. It will consist of a four-hour live streaming during which young people will be given the chance to interact with leading representatives of top companies. Speakers include: ALESSANDRA BENEVOLO, HR Director Italy & HR Cluster Head South Europe at IpsenLUCA CASSANI, Corporate Sustainability Manager at EpsonGABRIELE CATACCHIO, Global E-mobility Communication Manager at StellantisOSCAR DI MONTIGNY, President of FloweDANIELE FORTINI, President of Reti Ambienti SpaPAOLO IABICHINO, Founder of the Civic Brands ObservatorySTEFANIA POMPILI, Managing Director of Sopra SteriaGIANLUCA RANDAZZO, Head of Sustainability at MediolanumCARLOTTA VENTURA, Communication Sustainability Manager and Responsible for Regional Affairs at A2AFABIO ZARDINI, Country manager Italia at Patagonia. Verde Giffoni will be rounded off by SIMONE RUGIATI, pioneer of cooking shows in Italy, and EDOARDO BORGOMEO, honorary research associate at Oxford University who is currently working on water resource management and climate change adaptation projects. Moreover, the awareness campaign against littering "iolabuttolì", which was launched in 2020 by STP Certification and Save The Planet Onlus, will be presented. President ELENA STOPPIONI and engineer GIOVANNI MORI will be the representatives of Save The Planet Onlus at the event. In addition to that, DANIELE PUGLIESE, SIMONE PETRELLA and RICCARDO BETTEGHELLA, members of the highly popular factory and production company Casa Surace and testimonials of "iolabuttolì", will also be present.

Finally, on April 30, giffoners will help create an orchard in the green area of the Multimedia Valley and plant trees donated by Biorfarm, a benefit company and the first digital farming community. Each tree will be named after a movie character and will be decorated with messages from the young people as a sign of rebirth and harmony. The protagonist of this special moment will be the singer-songwriter GIOVANNI CACCAMO. Discovered by Franco Battiato, he won the Nuove proposte (New proposals) category at the 65th edition of the Sanremo Music Festival, as well as the Mia Martini critics' award, the Lucio Dalla press room award and the Emanuele Luzzati award. Caccamo was appointed UNESCO Youth Ambassador and represented Italy at the "Pathway to Paris: Earth Day 50" Festival, performing along with Michael Stipe from R.E.M., Patti Smith, Johnny Depp, Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cat Power, Ben Harper and many other artists.

There will be plenty of space for music, too: indeed, showcases featuring young people's favorite artists will be held every day. The events will take place in the Sala Truffaut, starting at 6.30 pm. The first guests will be CAPONE & BUNGTBANGT. The following day it will be the turn of the singer-songwriter NAPOLEONE and the revelation of the latest edition of the Sanremo Music Festival MATTEO ROMANO. On April 29 DARGEN D'AMICO will perform, whereas Saturday 30 will end with the energy of THE KOLORS.
