Sicilian actor Francesco Scianna has officially told his love to the Giffoni Film Festival. “Here – he said – youth show great thirst for knowledge and positively try to succeed, following sensible paths”.
That’s why in the afternoon (before Frank Matano’s friendly break-in into Sala Truffaut) he encouraged the masterclass jurors to never stop studying, not only before taking up a career but also after finding their own place in show business. “Italian film industry labours under a big misunderstanding – Scianna went on – because of its considering study, for actors, as a limit rather than breeding ground for self-improvement. You must always be ready to adapt to ever changing situations.” Before saying goodbye, he passed on some more advice: “Try to go through as many experiences as you can, always remember who you are and listen to your own desires”.
Scianna is currently working on Luca Miniero’s new film, in Salerno, but his future plans might also include a yet unspecified film by “a great international director”.
