Animated film Ploey – You never fly alone premiered at the 48th edition of Giffoni Film Festival, with a screening in Sala Lumière for Elements +6. Even if not in competition, the third cinematographic work by Icelandic film director Árni Ólafur Ásgeirsson was warmly welcomed by little jurors. Produced by Minerva Pictures, the film follows little plover Ploey’s adventures, attacked by hungry hawk Shadow after his father dies. Because of this traumatic shock, he believes he will never be able to fly again. Ploey manages to escape after a cat captures him and, leaving his past behind, he eventually takes flight and begins his migration to Paradise Valley where his mum and sister Ploverina are.
