GIFFONI STREET FEST: WHAT’S ON SCHEDULE ON JULY 22ND

The caravan of the one and only photographic circus in the world comes to Giffoni Street Fest to amaze the spectators! Its name is Blink Circus, traveling exhibit and itinerant Victorian-style show in a tiny 35sm tent. The seven art installations featuring surrealistic pictures and the six carousels inspired to the 20’s old circuses have been created by artist Lorenzo Mastroianni (photography setting and costumes). Only a maximum of 10 visitors can enter the tent per time, but they will be involved in a dreamlike journey made of music, lights and synchronized sounds to discover this mini circus-inspired photographic world out of time.

Starting from 20.30, the interactive reading of “Ciao cielo ed altre storie” takes place in Parco Pinocchio thanks to the Childhood Illustrations Exhibit by L’Infanzia di Parmenide. Also, don’t miss the appointment with the Mistery Party by Nientedimeno Unconventional at 20.00 in Piazza Umberto I. The acknowledged Ferraioli family and their puppets change “theatre”: the appointment is in Piazza Umberto I at 19.30 with the show “Hair style by Pulcinella”.

Workshops are back again in piazzetta Scarpone: body painting is curated by Weronique art whereas caricatures drawing sessions are by Sergio Eco. The schedule also includes workshops “The art of Recycling”, “Handmade creations” and “Painting with plants”. In Piazza Umberto I, ANSPI presents “Acqua Stop & Go” to raise awareness about a correct water usage. In via Scarpone, starting from 18.30, water games by Playhouse Rec Center are a must! Two street artists perform on the stage in Piazzetta Scarpone: at 22.00 it’s time for comic Edoardo Mirabella and family, whereas at 22.50 The Squasciò are back with the hilarious marriage proposal by Just Married.

As for daily activities, from 12.00 to 21.00 Parco Hollywood hosts Pepsi Sport Village and Minivolley, in collaboration with F.I.P.A.V, while from 19.00 to 20.00 Quartiere Berlinguer hosts Sport Village, by Centro Sportivo Italiano (Italian Sport Center), by reservation only. “La magia di Aura” charity auction starts at 21.30 in Giardino degli Aranci. Today’s itinerant artists are the Sonora Junior Sax, a band made of over 70 young saxophonists, all aged from 9 to 23 and already expert performers. Coordinated by their tutors, the show starts at 19.00 in the Citadel of Cinema with incredibly engaging sounds!
