Films in competition on July 17th

Prejudice, criminality and disease are the main topics of the films in competition on July 17th. The day starts at 2.30pm in Sala Alberto Sordi with AT EYE LEVEL (Germany, 2016), directed by Joachim Dollhopf and reserved to Elements +10. The film tells the story of Michi and his father, a dwarf, whose acquaintance will create problems to the boy, who had always imagined him in a different way. A lost treasure and three little brothers’ tenacity are protagonists in TESOROS (Mexico, 2017), a film judged by Elements +6 at 2.30pm in Sala Lumière. An iPad, scattered maps and adventurous spirit lay at the heart of this magic film by Maria Novaro. THEY CALL US MONSTERS (USA, 2016) by Ben Lear is the documentary screened at 3.00pm in Sala Vittorio De Sica for Gex Doc category. Jarad, Juan and Antonio are three young criminals who have enrolled on a screenwriting course whilst waiting for the end of their trials. Behind of them, there are murders, blood and addictions. Everardo’s farm, hens and roosters come to grips with autism in the short IL RE DEL MERCATO (Switzerland, 2017) at 7.00pm in Sala Alberto Sordi. Directed by Joel Fioroni and reserved to little Elements +3 jurors, the short tells the story of a boy and his mysterious disorder that will put the farm’s peace through the hoops.
