Prey, at #Giffoni2022 the action thriller by 20th Century Fox

The action thriller by 20th Century Studios, Prey, will premiere in Italy on the 26th of July at #Giffoni2022, the Festival’s 52nd edition due to be held from July the 21st to 30th. 16+ giffoners will have the chance to enjoy two projections in Sala Truffaut at 7:30 p.m. and 22 p.m. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (The Boys, 10 Cloverfield Lane), the film will debut on the 5th of August 2022 as a Disney+ Original title, under Star label. In preparation for the film’s debut, the streaming platform has also distributed a new key-art. It narrates the origin story of the Predator in the world of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago. Naru, a skilled female warrior, fights to protect her tribe against one of the first highly-evolved Predators to land on Earth. The mysterious prey she chases turns out to be a highly-evolved alien that hunts humans for sport, provided with a technological advanced set of weapons. A terrifying showdown between the two of them will take place.

Prey is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, written by Patrick Aison (Jack Ryan, Treadstone) and produced by John Davis (Jungle Cruise, The Predator), Jhane Myers (Monsters of God) and Marty Ewing (It – Chapter Two), with Lawrence Gordon (Watchmen), Ben Rosenblatt (Snowpiercer), James E. Thomas, John C. Thomas and Marc Toberoff (Fantasy Island) as executive producers. Filmmakers aimed to create a film that could portrait the Comanche in an authentic and realistic way, respecting indigenous peoples. Because of this, the producer (Myers) is native to Comanche and the cast is made up of First Nations actors too, such as Amber Midthunder (The Ice Road, Roswell, New Mexico), debuting Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp (Sooyii), Michelle Thrush (The Journey Home) and Julian Black Antelope (Tribal). Dane DiLiegro (American Horror Stories) is part of the cast as well, playing the role of Predator.
