CAUGHT IN THE NET, a documentary and a social experiment: a special event that explores the dark world of online abuse

On 20 December, after the screening in the digital cinema of #Giffoni50 Winter Edition, a live online Q&A to talk about cybercrime and minors

Three actresses, three child bedrooms, 10 days and 2,458 sexual predators: CAUGHT IN THE NET is a social experiment converted into an interventionist documentary, made by Vít Klusák and Barbora Chalupová. The movie, distributed in Italy by MESCALITO FILM, sheds light on the very delicate issue of child abuse on the web and will be presented on December 20 during one of the special events of #Giffoni50 Winter Edition. The online screening is reserved for the jurors of Generator +18 and Gex Doc, as well as to the jurors of Impact, but is an important opportunity for discussion on cybercrime against children and adolescents which will be open to all. Starting at 6.45 pm, the producer Pavla Klimešová and the actress Anezka Pithartovà will discuss live with us thanks to a streaming feed about such a complicated and current issue, offering food for thought on their experience. The Q&A can be followed on the www.giffonilive.it platform.
A joint effort by Hypermarket Film and Peter Kerekes Film, with the participation of the czech public broadcaster, Czech Television, CAUGHT IN THE NET is a major production that has clearly achieved the goal of intervening in the real world, rather than merely exploring and telling about a problem. This is not a simple documentary, the images are in fact currently in the hands of the police who have launched official investigations.
The special event dedicated to CAUGHT IN THE NET is part of the numerous activities proposed by #Giffoni50 Winter Edition which, until December 30th, will be divided into different sections with a very rich program designed for the whole family. Films in competition, shows, masterclasses, special and live events, all in digital experience, will keep both children, and their parents entertained. In a few days the full program will be unveiled with Giffoni, once again, set to be as close as possible to their huge community to experience the magic of Christmas together.
