BIOGRAPHY
CRISTIANA CAPOTONDI was born in Rome and debuted in 1993, when she was twelve, in the miniseries "Amico mio", con Massimo Dapporto.
In 1995 she made her cinema debut in "Vacanze di Natale '95", opposite Massimo Boldi and Luke Perry. Cristiana is also credited for "Un nero per casa", directed by Gigi Proietti, TV miniseries "Anni '50" e "Anni '60", directed by Carlo Vanzina. José Maria Sanchez's "Piovuto dal cielo", "Il giovane Casanova", by Giacomo Battiato, "Christmas in Love", "To Sleep Next To Her", directed by Eugenio Cappuccio: she was nominated for the Nastri d'argento for both roles.
In 2006 she received her first nomination for the David di Donatello for Best Actress for her portrayal of Claudia, in "Notte prima degli esami" by Fausto Brizzi opposite Giorgio Faletti and Nicolas Vaporidis. In 2009 she featured in Terry Gilliam's short "The Wholly Family". In 2011 after featuring as the testimonial for the 94th edition of the Giro d'Italia she appeared in "Kryptonite!" as Titina, role which garnered her a David di Donatello nomination for Best Actress in a supporting role.
In 2012 she voiced Mavis, Dracula's eighteen year old daughter in "Hotel Transylvania", while in 2013 she voiced Xenya, the main female character played by English actress Eleanor Tomlinson in Academy Award winner Gabriele Salvatores's "Deadly Code". In November she starred in Pierfrancesco Diliberto's debut film (aka PIF) "The Mafia Kills Only in Summer". The film won the audience award at the Torino film festival. In 2015 she appeared in "A Golden Boy" by Pupi Avati, opposite Sharon Stone and Riccardo Scamarcio.
She debuted as a film director in 2014 with her short "Sulla poltrona del Papa". From 2016 to 2017 she starred in the TV show “Io ci sono”, on Raiuno. She is currently on set for director Marco Tullio Giordana's latest film.
