Jurors and audience that have been crowding the Cittadella del Cinema for a few days, are really looking forward to their favourite characters’ return to the Festival. Ice Age: Collision Course will be released in Italy by 20th Century Fox August 25, but an atmosphere of great anticipation and curiosity already surrounds the film, which is expected to be the most ambitious of the saga, with many characters setting off in search of new adventures.

The saga great success is focused on family. According to producer Lori Forte: “The saga follows a bunch of different characters who feel like they’re all part of a big family, which also include the audience. The message carried out is that blood ties are not essential to make a family. Director Michael Thurmeier goes on: “It’s an intergenerational story which anybody, anywhere can identify themselves with”; and co-director Galen Tan Chu agrees with him: “The most moving aspect of the film is that the characters take care of one another, acting like a real family. Anyone can find similarities between their own lives and the characters’ journey”.
