“I have a clear memory of my first time at Giffoni, three years ago: it was a strong emotion. This festival is different: unlike all the other festivals touched by glamour, it remains genuine because it lives on the healthy enthusiasm of the youth who have the chance to get in touch with actors and directors that otherwise would be unreachable. There, genuine is the word”. Alessandro Borghi has come back on the seventh day of the 49th edition, eager to talk to the young Giffoni audience.
During the meeting, where he’s also received the SPECIAL TALENT AWARD, Borghi affirmed: “I had a clear memory of Giffoni and now I’ve realized why. This job means a lot to me and contact with young people is an essential part of it. Without you I would have no reason to be an actor. How exciting was the video you’ve shown to me! – he added after watching his welcome video – It proves that they help you communicate love. One can usually do it at sixty while being in analysis, but here at Giffoni you are given an amazing gift. Try not to change, keep your enthusiasm and stay Giffoners forever."
For the time being he’s got a bit of a break planned. “The hardest film to play is the one about my holidays” – he joked - I’ve been flicking through several projects and there are at least three I could be interested in. The problem is trying to squeeze it all in my schedule”. Borghi confirmed he will join the cast of the third season of Suburra, the first original Italian series released on Netfix and will next appear in Diavoli, a series co-produced by Sky Italia and Lux Vide, also starring Patrick Dempsey. “I still don’t know when the first series will be on air but I can tell a second season is already on schedule”.
