Synopsis
In a snow covered landscape in the countryside of Norway we meet 13 years old Cecilie, her friend Klara and Cecilie's family. They are all preparing for Christmas Eve. Cecilie, however, is seriously ill and spends most of her time in bed, daydreaming about the Spanish boy Sebastian who she met on holiday last summer. One night Ariel shows up in Cecilie's bedroom, a small strange looking fellow who claims he is an angel and starts talking to Cecilie about the wonders of life. Cecilie finds Ariel quite irritating, but they agree that if Cecilie tells Ariel how it feels to be a human being, Ariel will tell Cecilie about angels and the mysteries of the universe.
Sinossi
In un paesaggio coperto di neve nella campagna norvegese, Cecilie, 13 anni, la sua famiglia e la sua amica Klara si preparano al Natale. Cecilie è gravemente malata e trascorre la maggior parte del suo tempo a letto, sognando Sebastian, il ragazzo spagnolo che ha incontrato in vacanza l’estate precedente. Una notte, nella camera da letto di Cecilie, entra un tipo piccolo e strano, Ariel, che sostiene di essere un angelo e inizia a parlare con la ragazzina delle meraviglie della vita. Cecilie trova Ariel piuttosto irritante, ma c’è un accordo tra di loro: lei racconterà ad Ariel come ci si sente ad essere un essere umano, mentre lui parlerà a Cecilie degli angeli e dei misteri del cosmo.
