Biography

Serena Rossi was born in Naples on August 31, 1985. At 16 she made her debut in the theater with "C’era una volta Scugnizzi", a successful musical written by Claudio Mattone and directed by Bruno Garofalo. Fame came with "Un Posto al Sole" playing the character of Carmen Catalano, a poor girl who falls in love with a manager with whom she will have one of the most followed love stories by soap fans. Serena's other passion is music. In 2006 she released her first record, an EP entitled "Amore che", a collection of 5 folk songs taken from “Un Posto al Sole”. Serena moves to Rome to undertake new projects, covers multiple roles in numerous successful RAI and Mediaset fiction from "Il Commissario Montalbano" to "RIS Roma 3 - Delitti Imperfetti", passing through "Sant'Agostino", "Adriano Olivetti" and "Che Dio ci aiuti". A trip to Cuba in 2013 will be a source of inspiration for her second album "Nella Casa di Pepe".
After her beginnings, she returned to the theater with Enrico Brignano, who chose her for the role of the protagonist of his "Rugantino". Serena is the Rosetta of the musical comedy written by Garinei and Giovannini in 1962. The musical made its debut at the Sistina in Rome, after a tour in the main Italian theaters, it landed at the New York City Center on Broadway.
As a voice actress, she lends her voice to the Disney characters of Princess Anna of "Frozen - The Kingdom of Ice", 2014 Oscar winner for best animated film, and of the Cinderella of "Into the Woods". In December 2018, "Ralph Breaks the Internet", a new Disney masterpiece hits theatres  in which she gives the voice to princess Anna of Frozen again. She is also the Italian voice sung by Emily Blunt in the film "The Return of Mary Poppins".
She is a well-rounded artist: actress, singer, entertainer and presenter.
In 2014 he won the fourth edition of "Tale e Quale Show". Her interpretations thrill the jurors and the audience of the Rai program conducted by Carlo Conti.
On the big screen, she is the protagonist of the successful Manetti Bros film "Song 'e Napule", of Max Croci's comedy "Al Posto Tuo" and "Troppo Napoletano", a film produced by Alessandro Siani's CattleyaLab. Since 2008 she has been linked in a romantic relationship with actor Davide Devenuto, whom she met on the set of "Un posto al Sole", they have a son named Diego born in 2016.
She is also the lead character of the musical film "Ammore e Malavita" directed by the Manetti Bros thanks to which she wins the David di Donatello and the Silver Ribbon.
Maternity does not hinder Serena's career, between one feed and the next, she leads the Radio Italia Live music program interviewing all the greatest artists and talents of the Italian music scene. The concerts are broadcast on Radio Italia Tv and Real Time. Also for the same network she participates as a juror in the children's talent “Little Giants” and leads the program “From here to a year”.
In “Caccia al Tesoro” she is the protagonist of the tribute film by the Vanzina brothers to the great director Dino Risi and his “Operazione San Gennaro”.
After Michela Andreozzi's “Brave ragazze”, she returns to the big screen as a protagonist also in “7 ore per farti innamorare”, a romantic comedy by Giampaolo Morelli.
But it is in the role of Mia Martini that she recahes the definitive consecration, by the audience and critics. The film directed by Riccardo Donna "Io sono Mia", about the life of the Calabrian singer who died in 1995, reaches 8 million viewrs and a 31% share.
In 2020 she stars in Tiziana Aristarco’s "Mina Settembre", a Rai TV series freely inspired by the stories of Maurizio de Giovanni and in "Lasciami andare" by Stefano Mordini (77° Venice Film Festival), "La tristezza ha il sonno leggero" by Marco Mario de Notaris and "Diabolik" by Manetti Bros.
