Biography

Lodovica Comello was born on April 13th 1990 at San Daniele del Friuli in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia. She developed a passion for dancing, singing and playing the guitar from a young age. In 2009 she was selected to do one of the back up vocals in the dance troupe of the musical “Patito Feo - La historia más linda”. Besides, she takes part in the film “Il mondo di Patty - La festa al cinema”.
In 2011 she was given the opportunity to participate in the casting of a new series. After having been selected, she traveled to Buenos Aires where she attended a crash-course in Spanish in order to play the role of Francesca in the soap-opera “Violetta”, produced by Disney Channel and Pol-ka Producciones. Between August 2013 and March 2014 she started her tour called “Violetta - The Concert” that covered the main Latin American cities, Spain, France and Italy; she was also the dubber of the character of Britney Davis in the animated film “Monsters University”. In this period she received a Kid’s Choice Awards Argentina nomination for Favourite Tv Actress.
At the end of October 2013 her first single “Universo” was published as a preview of her homonymous album, which was sold from November 19th in Italy, Spain, Argentina and later in Poland as well. Afterwards two more singles were published: "Otro Día Más" and "I Only Want to Be with You", a reinterpretation of the song by the British singer Dusty Springfield.
In January 2015 the single “Todo el resto no cuenta” was published. This song precedes her second album’s release, “Mariposa”, which debuted at No. 13 on FIMI. In February her first tour as a soloist started; her concerts in Rome and Milano were sold out. “Sin usar palabras” was the title of her second single. In February 2015, the singer was the guest of the Tv programme “Domenica Live”, she also participated in “E poi c’è Cattelan” and, in the following months, she was also invited to other tv programmes abroad.
At the beginning of April she debuted as a writer with her first book, a sort of personal journal titled “Tutto il resto non conta” and, after that, she was a guest at Giffoni Film Festival, where she worked as one of the coaches in the Web Talent Show linked with the film “Inside Out”. On September 14th 2015 Comello announced that she would be the presenter in the TV show “Italia’s Got Talent”, broadcasted on Sky Uno and TV8 in 2016. In May 2016 she released her new single “Non cadiamo mai”, which was then presented during the final episode of “Italia’s Got Talent”’s seventh edition.
Since September 5th, 2016 she has hosted “Singing in the Car” on TV8, the first music game show in a car. In 2016 she participated in the film “Poveri ma ricchi” and she hosted the show “Kid’s Got Talent” with Claudio Bisio. In February 2017 she participated in the 67th Festival of Sanremo with the song “Il cielo non mi basta”, making it to the final and finishing in 12th place. In May 2017, the singer performed in the Tim Cup final with her new single “50 Shades of Colours”, the cover of “Le mille bolle blu” by Mina, and the Italian anthem.
In June 2017 the singer took part in the Summer Festival with the song “50 Shades Of Colours”. During her summer tour, she presented the unpublished song “Changed my life”. In October she took part in the video clip of “In The Town”, the single by Sergio Sylvestre e Gabry Ponte. In October she was a guest in the fourth episode of “Chi ha incastrato Peter Pan?”. In November 2017 the singer performed at Milan Music Week; besides, she took part in the film “Poveri ma ricchissimi”, a sequel of the blockbuster “Poveri ma ricchi”. At the same time she carried on with her social commitments by taking part in “Every Child is my Child” as an activist. In this regard, Comello was co-author of the homonymous book published by Salani Editore.
In February 2018 she launched the digital project “Una canzone per te”, directed to aspiring musicians and composers with the aim of involving them in the singer’s new single composition. It was also confirmed she would be the host of “Italia’s Got Talent” for the third consecutive edition. On May 22nd, her new single “Run” was published, while, since September 2018 she has hosted the radio programme “A me mi piace” for Radio105 with Barty Colucci, Gibba and Claudio Cannizzaro. She was the dubber of the character Miki in the feature-length animated film “Smallfoot”, in the Italian cinema in October 2018. In the same month she hosted the Tv programme “Mix and Match”, broadcast on Sky Uno.
In May 2019 her role as protagonist of the TV series “Extravergine” by Fox and Publispei was confirmed. Comello played the role of Dafne, and the series was broadcast on Fox Life in Autumn 2019. On March 11th 2020, Comello started her first podcast series, titled “L’Asciugona”, made up of ten episodes which were published weekly until March 13th 2020. In her podcasts Comello talks about classical topics, such as pregnancy, with an ironic tone. Since July 22th 2020 ten new episodes of the podcast have been released weekly, both in podcast and vodcast version.
