Biography

Born in Naples in 1975, Alessandro Siani makes his debut at the Tunnel Cabaret's acting laboratory in his home town. He gains popularity on TV by participating in numerous local comedy shows, before landing on national tv in 2002 on Rai Due, as a co-host of "Bulldozer" alongside Dario Vergassola and Federica Panicucci. In 2003, the comedy "Fiesta" arrives on all the Italian theatre stages, turning into a great success that culminates in 2004, at the Arena Flegreawith the show "Tienimi Presente", a triumph with an audience of over 12,000 people. 2006 is the year of his first starring role in the feature film "Ti lascio perchè ti amo troppo", directed by Francesco Ranieri Martinotti. The same year he also joins the main cast of "Natale a New York" by Neri Parenti.

In 2007 he returns to Naples, at the San Paolo stadium, with his new stage production "Per Tutti", becoming a great box office success, attracting more than 25000 spectators per show. That same year he hosts "Tribbù" with Serena Dandini. He returns to the big screen with director Neri Parenti, in "Natale in Crociera". His performance in the film earns him the Biglietto d’oro award and the Cartoon On The Bay International award for best male character. In 2008, he stars in his second film, "La seconda volta non si scorda mai", directed once again by Martinotti. In 2010, he also relases his first book "Un Napoletano come me", published by Rizzoli. His next starring role, alongside Claudio Bisio, in "Benvenuti al Sud" by Luca Miniero, is Siani’s breakthrough role. The film is a great success, which continues the following year with the sequel "Benvenuti al Nord".

In October 2011 he acts alongside Fabio De Luigi, in the film "La peggior settimana della mia vita" by Alessandro Genovesi. In the Italian edition of the cartoon "Cars 2", Alessandro gives his voice to one of the protagonist, the tricoloured car of Francesco Bernoulli. At the end of 2011, he débuts with the new show "Sono in zona", which immediately sells out in the most prestigious Italian theatres. That same year, Mondadori publishes Siani’s new book, entitled "Non si direbbe che sei napoletano", which becomes a best seller. On March 31 st, 2012, for the first time in the history of the Sistine theatre, Siani is on stage with three back-to-back shows, with the last encore performance beginning at midnight. On December 5 th, 2012, in Sorrento - during the Professional Cinema Days – he is awarded the fourth Biglietto d’oro award for the best box office for "Benvenuti al Nord" (the previous Biglietto d’oro award had been earned for "Natale a New York", "Natale in Crociera" and "Benvenuti al Sud").

On February 14th 2013, "Il Principe Abusivo", a box office success, which earned almost 15 million euros. In November 2013, the new book "L'Italia Abusiva", a semi-serious journey through Italian illegalism, was published by Mondadori. From summer of 2013 to the first months of 2014, he tours Italy with his stage production "Sono in zona", selling-out everywhere. In 2015 he directs the film "Si accettano miracoli", produced by Cattleya and Rai Cinema, and distributed by 01 Distribution. Also in 2015, the theatrical adaptation of the film "Il Principe Abusivo" is staged, becoming a great success throughout Italy. That same year he published his fourth book, "Troppo Napoletano" (Feltrinelli edition), and the following year a film adaptation with the same name is released, with Siani as a producer, thanks to the newborn Cattleya Lab. production company.

After the film’s success, a theatrical adaptation was staged in Campania theatres between February and March 2017. On January 1st 2017, Siani directs and release his third film, "Mister Felicità", produced by Cattleya and Rai Cinema, and distributed by 01 Distribution, becoming once again a great success at the box office. On January 16 th, 2017, Alessandro Siani, hits the stage of the San Carlo theatre, directing the legendary football player Diego Armando Maradona, in world exclusive. The event will be aired in spring on Channel 9. On January 2017, the tour of "Il Principe Abusivo" becomes sold out in the largest theatres of Italy. Shortly after, in the autumn of 2018, his second work as producer is released, La fuitina sbagliata, that stars the Sicilian comedy duo ISoldiSpicci.
